FlatEarthQuestions Backups Privacy Notice

FlatEarthQuestions Backups is a private application for the owner of FlatEarthQuestions.com. Its purpose is to preserve website pictures and related information independently of Cloudflare. Backups run only after the owner authorizes the connection and data transfer.
Information Used
When enabled, the application reads the website's original and derived picture files, exact questions, categories, picture identifiers, publication states and dates, management history, and website source. Backups can include unpublished and trashed pictures. The application does not provide public access to these backups.
Google Drive Access
The application requests only Google's drive.file permission, which limits access to files created by or specifically selected for this application. It uses that permission to create a private backup folder, store versioned copies, read those copies, and verify recovery. It does not request access to unrelated personal Drive files, Gmail, contacts, or Google Photos. Drive storage-availability information is used to check capacity.
Use and Service Providers
Backup information is used to preserve the owner's website content and verify that it can be recovered. The application does not sell backup information, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence models.
Cloudflare supplies the source data, Google Drive stores the independent copies, and an owner-controlled GitHub Actions workflow processes the backup and recovery checks. These services handle information as needed for those tasks under their own terms and privacy policies. The application does not make the backup folder public or share it with other users.
Security
Service connections use HTTPS. Authorization credentials are kept in private secure settings and, when configured, encrypted GitHub repository secrets. They are excluded from website assets and backup archives. Backup checks compare file checksums and reconstruct data in isolated temporary storage before reporting completion. No storage or security system can guarantee protection against every loss or unauthorized access.
Retention and Owner Control
The backup runner retains versioned copies and does not automatically overwrite or delete existing backups. Unpublishing or moving a website picture to Trash does not delete its independent backup. The owner can inspect and remove backup files directly in Google Drive.
The owner can stop future access by revoking the application's connection in Google Account settings and disabling the backup workflow. Revoking access does not remove copies already stored in Drive; those remain until the owner deletes them. This application has no automatic live-website restore or permanent-delete function.
Google API Data Policy
The application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
